Spring 2025

Poster for an art show called Margins of Failure, Glass & Neon Lab Show at Backspace Gallery in Madison, Wisconsin, December 3-7, 2024, with a reception on December 4 from 6 to 8 pm. The background features an abstract image of shattered glass and neon light.

In the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025, I was enrolled in an art class at UW-Madison, called Neon: Art as Sculpture. Over these two semesters, I spent hundreds of hours in the Neon Lab, handcrafting glass sculptures, which were then processesed into working neon lights.

I was one of the few neon artists selected for the 2024 Fall Glass Gallery at UW Madison.

My piece is the culmination of 15 weeks of work with neon sculpture.

“Comfort Kills”– Neon gas, argon gas, mercury, glass tubing, acrylic paint, plywood

Over the course of the 2 semesters I pushed my boundaries, tested my creativity and battled through countless burns and cuts in order to take part in this special craft. I am incredibly lucky and grateful that UW-Madison is one of 3 universities in the country that offer a neon course . These works are a glimpse into my life and I am very proud of all of the work I created!
